Celebrating Lee Min Ho at 34

Today, we celebrate the birth anniversary of an amazing personality, a special somebody, our onscreen lover, the man who stole our heart with his remarkable acting skills. Lee Min Ho is a South Korean actor, singer, and model. Born in Heukseok-dong, Dongjak-gu in Seoul on the 22nd of June 1987, he gained widespread popularity with his role as Gu Jun Pyo in the 2009 Coming-of-Age drama “Boys over Flowers which also earned him the Best New Actor Award at the 45th Baeksang Art Awards.

As a child, he wanted to be a professional football player but an injury during his 5th grade of elementary school shattered that dream, forcing him to pick up a new career interest. He turned to acting in his second year of high school and later completed majors in Film and Act at Konkuk University. While we feel sad that he could not achieve his dream of becoming a professional footballer, we are glad that he decided to pursue acting because he has been a blessing to all K-lovers.

Do you know Lee Min Ho miraculously survived two car accidents? The first occurred in 2006 which put his acting career on hold for a year as the accident left him severely injured and bedridden for several months. In 2011, during the filming of City Hunter, he was also involved in another car accident but he survived.

Lee Min Ho’s career breakthrough came in 2009 when he was cast to play the lead role of Gu Jun-Pyo in KBS Boys over Flowers.
